After the private sector was granted permission to operate container trains on the Indian Railway network, Inlogistics emerged as the country’s first Private Container Cargo Train, Rake Operator. The first rake was flagged off from Memari to Kakinada in October 2006 while its full-fledged services commenced in early 2007.
On acknowledging the potential of this large logistics company, which used the railway as a backbone and offered access to four well-located terminals, True North decided to invest in Inlogistics in March 2009.
True North helped Inlogistics put together a powerful management team and assisted in the creation of a three-year strategic plan while simultaneously helping streamline the MIS and related processes.
Today, Inlogistics operates fifteen container trains and a rail terminal at Kalamboli near JNPT.
The company undertakes end-to-end logistics solutions. Right from transportation to handling, loading and unloading of various types of commodities such as steel, marble, food grains, apparels and electronic goods etc. it takes care of it all. It has more than 1,380 containers and has made over 1,000 Cargo Trips covering 2.6M km and delivering over 2.0M metric tonnes of cargo.
